Wow, I guess it's been a while. I haven't had the heart for blogging lately, and I've been pretty busy with my two jobs and driving around everywhere for the holiday. But it's been fun. Here is a quick update about what Lacey and I have been up to since the holiday, now that it's been a week.
Last Wednesday: After school and windows, Lacey and I go to the airport to pick up Vickie. She had an uneventful flight, and we were pretty exhausted when we got home, so we pretty much went straight to bed.
Thursday (Thanksgiving): Slept in a bit, then headed over to Mom and Dad's. After a quick breakfast, we sat around visiting, listening to a playlist I cooked up on the DellPod, and taking turns holding Jocelyn. She's getting so big! Joel, Damien, Dad and I also used the beautiful weather we've been having as an excuse to go outside and throw the football around. After breaking a sweat, we came in and turned on the National Dog Show (which is starting to turn into something of a tradition) before dinner. We finally sat down with all 18 at the table, around 3:30. Dinner was fantastic, I won't even go into all the details. After that, we sat around reading Scripture and sharing what we're thankful for. Dessert followed, along with more visiting around, and finally everyone left. Went home and crashed into a tryptophan-induced coma.
Friday: Had to wake up early to get to the stores. I dropped Lacey and Vickie off at Kohls, and headed to Best Buy. I found some incredible deals there, Target, and at Circuit City on movies and whatnot for Joel and I, and made a couple of other quick stops before picking up the girls. The lines (for me at least) weren't bad at all! I did get lucky at Best Buy finding anything at all, but that's a long story. Anyway, after a quick Wendy's pit stop, we headed downtown to Circle Center mall. This was just a stopover for Joel and I, as we quickly joined Damien and went to the RCA Dome to stand in line for good seats to the Class 1A state championship football game between Sheridan (my high school alma mater) and Ritter. It was a fantastic game, with Sheridan prevailing in overtime 34-28. My uncle also got the family and others a luxury suite, and there was great food and great times had by all. We spent a bit of time up there after the game, and then headed home, where we watched The Family Man (a holiday classic, which Vickie had never seen) and went to bed.
Saturday: I did windows in the morning while the girls shopped some more. The afternoon was very lazy, Joel and I watched some TV, and finally Mom and Dad, Jess and Damien and his parents came over for a fondue party, but mostly to watch the ND/USC debacle. Ysh. Don't even talk to me about it. It was a fun, albeit uneventful day.
Sunday: Church, lunch, euchre, took Vickie to the airport. It was supposed to be relaxing and slow. But on the way to the airport, my Uncle called Joel and asked he and I if we wanted his tickets to the Colts game that night! So we rushed home, changed, headed BACK downtown, and ended up at the Colts/Eagles game, where the Colts summarily stampeded Philly 45-21. It was a lot of fun, but I paid for it with lack of sleep. A great weekend capper, none the less. Then it was back to work Monday, and that brings us pretty much up to date. Lacey has another appt. with the doctor today, so another update is most likely imminent on the baby. Stay tuned!
