Homebody

No, not homeboy. This isn't the 90's any more.
Did you ever get to the realization that you have become a boring person? I have. I feel like Lacey and I have become bums. We work, we lay around, we sleep, we eat. There is a lot of stuff we COULD be doing, a lot of opportunities to get out and have fun, especially in the area where we live. But we rarely take advantage of these. Of course, one reason is that we are up at 5:30 every morning, and I work every Saturday, so we're tired a lot. Add that to the fact that pregnant Lacey becomes a zombie right around 9 PM, and you have a coupla couch potatoes. Another reason this has happened is our ridiculous television schedule. We have actually dropped a few shows from our list, and it's still insane! We've definitely resolved to drop a few more shows once the baby comes, but when you find yourself having a conversation at night about which shows are being dropped first, and why, you know you have no life. Anyway, gettaload of our schedule:

Monday: 24, The Hills, How I Met Your Mother
Tuesday: American Idol, Gilmore Girls (Lacey only)
Wednesday: American Idol, Lost
Thursday: Survivor, The O.C. (which is cancelled, so that's one down)
Friday-Saturday: NOTHING!
Sunday: The Amazing Race, The Girls Next Door, Desperate Housewives, Entourage (when it comes back)

And that's having dropped Smallville and Las Vegas (which we will watch on DVD when they come out, along with Scrubs)! Is that ridiculous or what? I know I said we'd drop a few once the baby comes, but once that happens, we won't be able to get out much anyway! Maybe this is what is supposed to happen once you get married and start having kids, I dunno. But in a year when I'm about to turn 30, I just got to thinking about how little I do. Don't get me wrong, I love my life. I love so much about it, it's crazy. I just think that maybe we should be taking advantage of some stuff around us...y'think?

Not that you need to add any more shows to your list but have you watched much of The Office? It's pretty much my favorite these days along with House and Scrubs.
We don't seem to get out much either. Jon works late and of course, we have a kagillion kids running around. You learn to adapt.

Hol, I watch bits and pieces of the Office every now and then. But we decided a while ago, that no matter how good shows are, we absolutely can't add any more. Especially when it's on the same time as survivor, and we already Tivo so much stuff. I did watch the end of last night's: "They say when you ge married, everything is so rushed that you don't even have time to eat a piece of your own wedding cake. I say, let them eat cake! Mararet Thatcher said that....smart broad..." Freaking hilarious.

You DO have a kagilliion kids! :-)

That episode was hilarious

Well, you can't let a beautifully huge T.V. like yours go to waste.

Is there really that much to do where you are? I used to get frustrated b/c all Thomas and I would do on the weekends was go out to eat, then go see a movie. Then I realized those are pretty much the only options in Funroe.

Oh yeah, Emily, there's tons to do. Remember, we live in the greater Indianapolis area. There is the symphony, operas, plays, concerts, ballets, bowling alleys, pubs, sports bars, professional sports teams, a zoo, museums (several!), parks, imax, restaurants galore, an actual Best Buy (7 of them within a 30 minute drive), and just to give you an idea: Eight 15 or more screen movie theaters within a 30 minute drive. I feel like a commercial :-)

Ah so, grasshopper. I love how "a Best Buy" qualifies as a form of entertainment. "Hey, honey, let's go to the Best Buy tonight!" :)

Posted by: emily at February 10, 2007 07:48 PM

Well, you got me there. Of course, I wasn't putting it out there as "entertainment", just juxtaposing where I live (Best Buys, Circuit Citys, HH Greggs, etc. within walking distance) with Monroe, where everybody buys their high-tech electronics, music, and DVD's from....Wal-Mart.

Josh Melton, you listen to me: YOU MUST WATCH THE OFFICE. I mean it.

No, really.

I'm not just saying that.

Stop whatever you're doing and do it now.

Christin, how dare you peddle your smack here! Don't listen to her, Josh. It'll suck you in, man!
