Moving!

As you can see, I am completely obsessed with exclamation points these days. And, we're leaving Springfield. Yep, that's right, going back to good old Indiana. That was the plan all along, and it's coming together quite nicely. I accepted a teaching position last Friday. It is for a High School Chemistry teacher, and while is temporary (just 2nd semester) right now, they don't think the regular teacher will be back, so it could turn permanent. Anyway, boxes are out, stuff is being packed, arrangements have been made. We are very excited. It will be very nice to be around friends and family again. Springfield is a great city, and I do like my job (sometimes), but it's time to settle down for good. And Indianapolis is a great little city. Don't get me wrong, there are things we will miss. Like our gigantic 1600 sqare foot townhouse that we get for 625/month. Or being across from Target, down the street from Wal-Mart and the movie theater, and literally 90 seconds from Best Buy. I'll tell you, if we could purchase our townhouse, and transplant the exact location to Indiana, we'd do it. But Abbie needs a fence, and our future children (Lord willing) need Grandparents and uncles and aunts close by. So pray for us, and come see us very soon up North! BTW, I wanted to post some pics of our old place, but I don't know how. Someone help me please!

Stolen!

I was surfing around on blogsites the other day, and I came across one of an old friend I had in Moscow, Tim Hagen. Tim's a really interesting, cool guy, and he had an excellent idea for me on his blog. So I stole it. Instead of posting my normal Dellpod mix, I'm changing things up a bit. Thanks, Tim!

I currently have 5974 songs on my DellPod. When I start from the top of alphebetized songs, these are the first ten unique artists, with their respective songs:

1.Garbage - #1 Crush
2.Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals - #3
3.Dave Matthews Band - #34
4.Eminem - 'Till I Collapse
5.Santana - (Da Le) Yalleo
6.Brian Adams - (Everything I Do) I Do It For You
7.Clarence (Frogman) Henry - (I Don't Know Why) But I Do
8.Teknoe - (I Wanna) Be Like Mike
9.Alicia Keys - Lovin' You (Hidden Track)
10.Blackstreet - (Money Can't) Buy Me Love

Doing the same thing from the bottom up, I get this list:

1.Cherry Poppin' Daddies - Zoot Suit Riot
2.U2 - Zooropa
3.The Cranberries - Zombie
4.Soundgarden - Zero Chance
5.The Smashing Pumpkins - Zero
6.The Fugees - Zealots
7.Ben Folds - Zak and Sara
8.P.O.D. - Youth of the Nation
9.Audioslave - Your Time Has Come
10.The Stone Roses - Your Star Will Shine

And, finally, going out on a limb and hitting shuffle, these are the songs that are played back:

1.White Stripes - Detroit
2.Beastie Boys - Namaste
3.Neil Finn - Paradise (Wherever You Are)
4.Jimi Hendrix Experience - Gypsy Eyes
5.Ben Kweller - Make it Up
6.Queen - The Show Must Go On
7.Remy Zero - Belong
8.R.E.M. - The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight
9.Filter - One
10.Bright Eyes - Nothing Gets Crossed Out

Yes, Another Football Post

I just have to. Especially with how my basketball teams are faring. First, my Irish. The BCS did the right thing and put us against Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. And I can't wait. It's two great teams, tons of tradition, and probably the two biggest fan bases in the country. I think this is the year where we break our ridiculous bowl losing streak. I mean, come on! Giving Charlie Weis 5 weeks to prepare for any team is just asking for a butt-whooping. Plus, 3 of those weeks are without classes, finals, etc. to get in the way. It's almost like being in the NFL again! So after we (God help us!) beat up on the Buckeyes, my beloved Golden-Domers will be ranked probably in the top 3 for next year's preseason. Maybe even number 1. We are hardly losing anyone (2 Offensive lineman, two linebackers, and Stovall), and look to get back to glory and win the National Championship that has been eluding us since 88-89. Oh yeah, and Brady Quinn will be the Heisman frontrunner. How's that for a stellar-looking year. I just pray we can stay healthy and recruit, recruit, recruit...

And now the Colts. Ohhhhh, the Colts. 12-0 and dominating everyone we play. And yes, I know our defense tripped up a little against the Bengals, but we are just the best team in the NFL, bar none. But (yes, there is a but), the toughest stretch of the season is now before us. So we'll see what the boys are made of. We have Jacksonville away, come back for San Diego, and then travel to Seattle...all very good, playoff-bound teams. It's gonna be tough to go 16-0, especially with the temptation of resting the guys. But I'm not worried about that. I don't care if we lose all 4 of our remaining games. All that matters is the Super Bowl. It's our year, and if anyone takes that away, it's going to be very disappointing, and heads very well may roll. However, I think we're going to get there. Go Colts!!

I promise, that's the last football post for a while. I've seen some very good ideas on other blogs that I'm going to summarily steal and use for my own. So stay tuned.
